  THE HORROR
"Sometimes a particular hole will cause a choke--a choke hole. . . . Like the 18th at Cypress. It's like walking into a certain room in a big dark house when you were a kid--you get this fear that hits you." --DAVE MARR

Unfortunately, traumatic golf experiences have a way of resurfacing. Fortunately, such flashbacks can be induced in your opponent. Thus, if he demonstrates a penchant for a particular form of mis-hit (slice, snap hook, shank, cold top, chili dip, etc., etc., etc.), tell him a horror story about a guy you knew who had the same problem, may he rest in peace. Or if your opponent seems to have difficulty with a particular hole, convince him that the hole is his nemesis, and the next time he plays it, the negative memories will come flooding back, drowning out any positive thoughts or visualizations.

Do you have a favorite golf ploy you don't see here? Submit it to our contest and it may appear in the next edition of How to Win at Golf!
