You’ll tire of hearing “Where did you get that bag?”
The book arrives in stores July 8. But why wait? We’re giving away five FREE copies. Just leave a comment below answering this question: What would you like to see on the Potter Craft news Blog?
We’ll pick five and announce the winners on the blog on July 10.

Projects made from the various books.

Lovely looking book, as always! How about adding pics of finished objects people have made from the books. It's always fun to see the creativity the Craft World puts into ideas/patterns from books. Thanks!

Great ideas! I made a call for submissions below, so everyone should start sending me pictures of finished projects and we will post some!

Would like to see a few more photos from the inside of upcoming books.
Posted by: michael at June 24, 2008 1:40 PM
I agree with Jen (above), I'd love to see actually projects made by real people from the books!
Posted by: Sarah Hawkins at June 24, 2008 3:00 PM
I would love to see for free sewing and quilting patterns, especially those that feature easy women's accessories (purses, wallets, card holders, etc.) and housewares (napkins, placemats, kitchen/bath stuff). I am so into tutorials and new ways to make everyday items. Thanks for asking.

I would also would like to see photos from new books....interviews with the authors would be intersting too!
Thanks..

I would like to see a few more craft patterns and a listing of events, festivals, etc. I always seem to hear about events after the fact. Thanks, cool looking book!
Posted by: Turtle at June 25, 2008 10:19 AM
I would like to see tutorials. It doesn't have to be patterns from books. Just show us how to do techniques that we may not be familiar with.
Posted by: Mel at June 25, 2008 3:28 PM
Wow what a cool giveaway! Photos also help!
Posted by: Carla Pullum at June 25, 2008 10:07 PM
It would be super-cool to win this since my birthday is next week. :)

Photos of the projects but done in different colors and yarns and fabrics, to help visualize the possibilities.

more samples/excerpts from craft books
Posted by: lulu at June 26, 2008 9:13 PM
I'd like to see excerpts from craft books in various mediums (sewing, quilting) with photos. Quick & easy projects would be great for beginners.
Posted by: Travi at June 27, 2008 7:49 AM
I think the blog could be a good way to bring the books to life by showing some of the stories and projects behind them.
Everyone else has mentioned photos of finished objects, which I think is great. Interviews or memes with authors would also be fun, or little anecdotes, links, and extras.
Posted by: Hanna at June 28, 2008 7:45 AM
i love interviews with authors. i think it's great to find where they get inspioration from and i love hearing people talk about their passion. Also a few more excerpts would be good it is sometimes hard to gauge a book's usefullness on just one picture.
Posted by: melly at June 28, 2008 8:25 AM
I'd like to see book previews -- list of projects with pictures, etc.; free patterns/excerpts would be nice too. As it is, I get very little from this news blog, so I don't follow it very carefully.

Photos/directions of projects from several different books and other forms of inspiration. Cool giveaway!

I would like to get some insight into the workspaces of crafters. I do not have a dedicated workspace, using the dining room table to sew, paint and weave baskets. How do other crafters with limited space do it?
Posted by: Alice R at June 29, 2008 2:46 PM
Some How-Tos would be great!
Posted by: Meghan at June 29, 2008 4:02 PM
I would also like to see event listings, and I love your quirky resources. You never know where inspiration can come from.

I must admit this is the first time I've been introduced to this site. I read about it in my sisters Country Living Magazine. I am blown away with the purses and plan to make some. My comment! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

I would love to see contact information for vendors of materials used in projects!
Posted by: Chris at June 30, 2008 12:03 AM
I would like to see videos of the techniques used in the book. Instructions are much easier to understand when you can see the demonstration in action.
Posted by: Nancy at June 30, 2008 3:33 AM
I will like to know what to do with buttons. I have many old ones from my mother and grandmother. I have seen lamps with buttoms but I do not have any idea about how to make them. Thanks.
Posted by: Tina Gonzalez at June 30, 2008 12:04 PM
I would like to see more projects made from recyled items.
Posted by: barbara taylor at June 30, 2008 1:20 PM
I wouldn't mind seeing some ideas using gameboards and maybe pieces too! We have a lot laying around here, oh yeah what about somthing to do with game cards like matching games ect. Maybe the book could show me how to make a check book cover using my childs coloring artwork.

What would you like to see on the Potter Craft news Blog?
I love the word FREE! I would, of course, like to see free patterns. I also saw the Idea Notebook in this months Country Living magazine.
Posted by: Jo Anne at June 30, 2008 9:06 PM
more projects and pics of inside the books.
Posted by: susan at June 30, 2008 9:35 PM
How to repurpose items found at flea markets and garage sales would be great. I'm really trying to be more "green" in my everyday life.
Posted by: Marilyn at June 30, 2008 9:50 PM
I would like to see a trio of fun. Example: Preview a new quilting book add a book review of an author who writes stories about quilting and tie it all together with a recipe for homemade cookies or brownies. This idea could be used for knitters with a good who-done-it mystery and apple pie. The possibilities are endless. All crafters need food.

How about some one day sewing get to gethers in key locations (such as fabric shop/craft stores) to make one of the great bags featured in the Simply Sublime Bags?
(Sort of like the Quilt in a Day sessions I remember reading about years ago.)

I just learned of this site through Country Living magazine, and I love it! Free anything is great. Patterns, projects, ideas easy enough for preteens. A listing of events would also be great.
Posted by: nicki at July 1, 2008 10:28 AM
I'd love to see more insights from the authors.
Posted by: Donna at July 1, 2008 2:17 PM
Just keep up the "easy" ideas. I have plenty of fabric and supplies but not enough time to make something that I can be proud of. And, more whimsy (like the twister tote) please!
Posted by: Elaine at July 1, 2008 10:12 PM
I saw the different bags in the August 2008, Country Living magazine. I love them and would like to make some of them. I like making and buying new and different things.
Posted by: Mary Jean Klass at July 1, 2008 10:38 PM
I would like to see some free patterns for recycling items into new crafts, and then pictures of it and maybe interviews with the maker of the craft. For example, turning fabric scraps into wrapping paper for family gifts (it never leaves the house, right?) or other fabric leftovers into a memory board for a loved one.
Tips on new techniques in crafty fields would be great too - a new way to use a serger, or an innovative way to use knitted i-cord.
Posted by: Whitney at July 2, 2008 7:08 AM
I'd like to hear what are the new hot items that are selling well. I'm always looking for the "newest" thing out there.
Posted by: Kayla Meyers at July 2, 2008 12:03 PM
I really love photos and instructables. Projects like this motivate me to sew and get creative. Thanks!

I love to read little bio's on the authors giving insight to their creativity. Photos of their favorite work.

It's my first time to visit this this spot. Hate to admit it, but I've already ordered the book at our local bookstore. Wouldn't mind a free one to share with a friend. Looking forward to trying something new!

How to take something you never use and make it in to something usable. Helpful ideas and fun crafts for kids.

I love projects made from "anything hanging around the house" - although sometimes those things need a little help getting there! - But always have a purpose! - That's what attracted me to an article
on these wonderful bags. I can't wait to see the book!
