MEET TIM KRING AT THE WEST HOLLYWOOD BOOK FAIR

Tim Kring will be speaking on the panel, “Drug Trade Stories: The Book, The Bad & The Ugly” at the West Hollywood Book Fair on September 26th. The panel runs from 2:15 to 3:15 PM and afterwards, Tim will be signing “Shift” at the Book Soup Booth.

SHIFT COMIC-CON SCAVENGER HUNT WINNER

Congratulations to William Elya of San Diego who was the winner of our Shift Scavenger Hunt at Comic-Con. He solved all three clues before his 136 competitors. The field narrowed quickly – 63 found the first clue at the Random House booth, 43 asked the correct “Jackies” for the second and 32 discovered that Mr. Padre kept watch over the third.

SHIFT AT COMIC-CON 2010

Tons of cool stuff went down last week at Comic-Con for SHIFT. Tim Kring appeared with actor Zach Quinto (Heroes, Star Trek) to debut the SHIFT trailer, launch the SHIFT feature site, and kick off an SMS-based scavenger hunt contest with clues around town. Jackie O’s seemed to be running rampant at the con carrying strange symbols. Come to think of it, seems like there’re lots of mysterious, hidden signs floating around the publication of SHIFT.

Register to play by texting SHIFT to 72636. Participants will be sent text messages directing them to find clues planted around Comic-Con. Registration closes at 2 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, July 23rd. The first of three clues will be texted out at approximately 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, July 23rd. Text back the correct Code Word to the first clue to receive the second clue. Text back the correct Code Word to the second clue to receive the third clue.

Text back the correct answer for all three clues and qualify to win the Grand Prize: One (1) iPad 64GB Wi-Fi. TIM KRING LAUNCHES NEW ALTERNATE REALITY GAME

International telecom Nokia has teamed up with Shift author Tim Kring to launch a new “alternate reality gaming” experience…”I believe that storytelling has the power to create positive change in the world. Audiences today want to be more involved in stories,” says Kring. “Our goal with [this new project] is to entice, engage, and inspire the audience to drive real-world change through their participation in a narrative.”

TIM KRING AWARDED PIONEER PRIZE AT DIGITAL EMMY AWARDS

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences recognises excellence in content created and designed for viewer interaction and/or delivery on a digital platform originating outside of the United States through the International Digital Emmy® Awards.

This year, the International Digital Emmys awarded Shift author Tim Kring their Pioneer Prize for his “innovative contributions to the field of digital entertainment with Heroes Evolutions.”
