HOW TO PLAY

Register to play by texting SHIFT to 72636. Participants will be required to confirm their participation in the promotion by texting back an opt-in consent. Participants will be sent text messages directing them to find clues planted around Comic-Con. Registration closes at 2 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, July 23rd, 2010. The first of three clues will be texted out at approximately 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, July 23rd, 2010. Text back the correct Code Word to the first clue to receive the second clue. Text back the correct Code Word to the second clue to receive the third clue. If you text back the wrong Code Word, you will receive a text indicating, “The keyword in your message was not recognized, please check the spelling and try again.” If you choose to try again and successfully text back the correct Code Word, you are back in the game. Standard text message rates apply.

Participants will receive up to a maximum of ten (10) text messages to include: confirmation of registration (2 text messages); scavenger hunt clues (up to 3 text messages); notification of incorrect answer (1 or more, depending on Participant’s willingness to continue playing); notification to Participants eligible for Grand Prize drawing (1); notification to Prize Winners from each drawing (1);  announcement that SHIFT the book is available to pre-order the week of August 2, 2010 (1); announcement that SHIFT is on sale on August 10, 2010 (1).  Participants who elect to continue playing after submitting an incorrect answer may receive in excess of ten (10) text messages, depending on how many incorrect answers are submitted.  Participants who submit only correct answers will not receive more than ten (10) text messages.  Standard text message rates apply.

HOW TO WIN

Text back the correct answer for all three clues and qualify to win the Grand Prize: One (1) iPad 64GB Wi-Fi. Text back the correct answer for the first two clues only and qualify to win the Second Prize: One (1) Nokia N97 Mini smartphone. Text back the correct answer for the first clue only and qualify to win one of ten (10) Third Prizes: autographed first edition of SHIFT by Tim Kring and Dale Peck.  Participants must correctly text one, two or three correct code words to the Sponsor by 11:59 P.M. Pacific Time on July 24, 2010 to be eligible to win either the Grand Prize, the Second Prize or one of the Third Prizes.

On or about August 10, 2010 one (1) grand-prize winner, one (1) second-prize winner and ten (10) third prize winners will be chosen in three separate random drawings conducted by Sponsor’s marketing department from the eligible and completed entries received by the entry deadline for each drawing.
