The Booklover's Repair Manual
was written and illustrated by experts on the preservation of books, reviewed by conservators, and tested by a panel of novices of different ages and aptitudes. It begins with a basic lesson about the construction of books, and proceeds with step-by step instructions for each repair project, illustrated with both frameable, instructional drawings by master bookbinder Timothy C. Ely and original photographs by Leonard Morris. It is also augmented with memories and legendary quotes about the collecting and general care of books and about the passions they inspire in book lovers.
