A Pathfinder is someone who teaches a Traveler how to cross over to other realms. Some Travelers discover their unusual power without the use of a teacher, but there are certain advantages in using a Pathfinder. An experienced teacher will show the student how to control his/her Light while stressing that this new ability needs to be used in a positive way.

When the Tabula began using the growing power of the Vast Machine to track down Travelers, they also targeted Pathfinders. Harlequins have been known to protect Pathfinders – although this obligation is not always honored. Some Pathfinders teach using prayer and meditation techniques from their particular religious tradition. Others use a book called The 99 Paths. This is a collection of 99 spiritual exercises developed over the years by visionaries from different faiths.
