A Harlequin. She was born in 1979 – the daughter of the Thorn and the British-born Veena Singh. Maya was trained from childhood to be a Harlequin and discarded her civilian name at the age of fifteen. Maya is another name for the goddess Devi, consort of Shiva. Hindu philosophers use "Maya" as a word that suggests the illusionary world of the senses.

In 2002, Maya broke from her father and attempted to have an ordinary citizen life. She took a few courses in product design at the University of Salford, then moved back to London and started working for the Top Image design studio. A few months later, she became a full-time employee at Top Image. The former Harlequin was part of a team designing packaging for makeup and perfume. 

Maya met her father a few hours before his death in 2005. Once again, she assumed her Harlequin identity and went to the United States where she met Gabriel Corrigan. Since Maya and Gabriel left the New Harmony community in Arizona, she has been living off the grid.
