Nathan Boone is the individual in charge of combating the enemies of the Tabula. These "enemies" include Harlequins, Travelers, Pathfinders and their supporters (see New Harmony).

Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1950, Boone had two years of college at Iowa State and then joined the army. Public records indicated that he reached the rank of captain in the Fourth Division, then was transferred to the Pentagon for intelligence work. After eight years of military service, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he served in the Counter Intelligence Division.

Retiring from the Bureau, he joined Active Solutions, Ltd.—a privately held security firm with offices in Johannesburg, Singapore, and Buenos Aires. Active Solutions has been accused by Africa Watch of being a major source for mercenaries involved with protection of oil fields in Nigeria and open-pit diamond mines in Sierra Leone. It appears that Boone was hired by the Brethren in 1992. His official, public job title is Head of Security for the Evergreen Foundation.
