SAMANTHA'S DAD
by Samantha Gil

Chapter One: Getting Ready

It was a Friday morning. I jumped out of bed. In case you are wondering, my name is Samantha. I have dark hair and brown eyes. Today my dad was coming to New York. (I will tell you why later.)

"Mom, I'm ready to have breakfast."

I ran to the table. My mom had set up Cherrios for me. I ate them fast. Then I got dressed very pretty. I wanted my dad to be proud of me.

"I think he will, you don't have to worry," my mom said. I was glad she said so, because I looked too pretty for anyone not to think so. (My mom always said so when I wore one of my pretty dresses). I also wanted to find a Father's Day gift for my dad, because it was June.

Chapter Two: The Whole Story

A long time ago, my mom hadn't found my dad yet. But when she did, and they got married, they had me. But then, my mom and my dad decided they didn't want to stay married. So they got divorced.

My dad went to Texas, and my Mom stayed with me.

But tomorrow was my ballet recital, and my dad really wanted to come.

Chapter Three: Fun, Fun for Everyone

Ring! The doorbell rang. I ran to get it. I opened the door and guess who it was-- Dad!

"Hi, little princess!" said my dad.

"Hi, Dad!" I said. I was so happy to see him.

"I bet you two will have fun," said my Mom. Me and my dad did have a lot of fun. And I was glad.

Chapter Four: My Party

"Did you have fun at your birthday party?" asked my mom on my birthday. "Yup" I said.

When I got home, I opened my gifts. They were all pretty neat.

"I'm glad you like them," my Dad said.

"I'm glad, too," I said.

In the night, I made a gift for my Dad. It was a picture frame with my school picture in it. I was sure my Dad would like it.

Chapter Five: Leaving

The next day, after the recital, I played with my dad. Then we went out to eat. The day after that, it was time for my dad to go back to Texas. I had a good time anyway.
