Ballantine will pay you an advance of 25¢ for the rights to print the book. And we will give you one copy of your printed book.
If Ballantine wants to make more copies of the book and try to sell it to bookstores and make lots of money, we will decide on a fair amount of money to give you for each book we sell. This is called a "royalty." But even if we don't sell the book and make lots of money, you get to keep the quarter.
By signing this contract, you give us permission to print your book, and to say you are the author of the book. You also give us permission to put a version of it on the Internet for Take Our Daughters to Work Day.
Because you are less than 18 years old, one of your parents has to sign this form before we can put your book on the Internet. Signed:
