We will be reading it for our book group. I read it on my own time. It was fantastic. Good writing, wonderful characters and a wealth of knowledge not known before.
Our book club is discussing this in May–in Rehoboth Beach , DE
Our club is discussing it June 11–I’m sure it will be a lively discussion!
Our book club will be discussing the book in August. We heard that it was a very good book and a lot of book clubs were reading and reviewing the book.
We are discussing the book, I am looking for questions. This is what I have come up with so far:
How does “Guernsey” give you additional insight on historic events (WWII)?
What characteristics or events are not bound by time but could happen today?
What could NOT happen today?
What endeared you to a particular character?
What did you learn about courage?
What did you think about the style of writing? (using letters as a vehicle instead of a traditional narative or 1st person.)
Does anyone else have ideas?
Our book group in Farmers Branch, Texas, will be discussing the book in July. Maybe we’ll even get some Guernsey-like weather to get us in the mood. That would be nice!
Read this and HAD to make it my choice for our Books group, which meets tomorrow. Response from these friends has been just as mine: Loved the format, loved the characters. Didn’t want book to end. This is such a book-lover’s dream. The variety of responses to a particular time – the war and invasion – was sensitive, full of daily life details worth more thought and discussion. Thank you, thank you.
Yes. Our club will be discussing the book on July 13th and we hope
to be picked to visit Guernsey in the fall.
Yes. Our book club is discussing the book on July 13th and we are
hoping to win the trip to Guernsey in the fall.
My book club will be discussing this book in September. I will be hosting the meeting so I got to choose the book. I am loving every minute of reading it. I would love to know if there really is a children’s book entitled Elsbeth the Lisping Bunny?

We are the “just for fun” book club. We will be discussing this wonderful book on July 25th. We are a small group of five fabulous friends. Hope we will be traveling to Guernsey in October.
Our book club will be discussing this book on July 28th. We’ve read some wonderful books this year and this one continues our trend. Our book club is “ICU…Reading” ( I see you reading) a group of ICU nurses in Austin, Texas.
Our book club in Virginia loved the Guernsey book. Winning the
trip would be a dream come true for us!
