TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS TO WORK DAY

Take Our Daughters to Work Day 1998
Book Publishing Workshop Book Contract

The Ballantine Publishing Group agrees to print a book called (your "Book") _______________________ written by ____________________(that's you, the "Author"), in April of 1998.

Ballantine will pay you an advance of 25¢ for the rights to print and publish your Book everywhere in the Universe. And we will give you one copy of your printed Book.

If Ballantine wants to make more copies of your Book and try to sell it to bookstores and make lots of money, we will first agree with you on a fair amount of money to give you for each copy of your Book we sell. This is called a "royalty." But even if we don't sell any copies of your Book and make lots of money, you get to keep the quarter.

By signing this contract and keeping the quarter, you give us permission to print and publish your Book, and to say you are the author of your Book. You also give us permission to put a version of your Book on the Random House Web site on the Internet for Take Our Daughters to Work Day.

Because you are less than 18 years old, one of your parents has to sign this form before we can put your Book on our Web site.
