From posters and vintage magazines to original photos and books, when he sat down to write Fields' biography there was almost too much. We think you'll like what you find. 3. From 1915 to 1921, Fields worked almost exclusively for Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. He was in every edition of the "Ziegfeld Follies" save one. When a planned tour of Australia fell through in 1919, he decided to work the roof of the New Amsterdam Theatre, where the "Midnight Frolic" presented the stars of the "Follies" in an intimate nightclub setting. The cover of this rare program for the week of May 10, 1920, features artwork by Henry Clive and a cast that includes Fields, "Follies" legend Lillian Lorraine, Fannie Brice, singer Carl Randall, and jazz dancer and comedian Joe Frisco.
