PRE-ORDER A COPY OF PROMISE ME FROM ANY U.S. BASED ONLINE RETAILER OR PARTICIPATING RETAIL STORE AND SUSAN G. KOMEN FOR THE CURE WILL SEND A FREE LIMITED EDITION SIGNED COPY TO YOUR SISTER (OR ANYONE YOU NOMINATE TO RECEIVE THIS GIFT).
1.) Visit Amazon.com, BN.com, Borders.com, Indiebound.com, or any online retailer of your choice, or participating retail store, and preorder your copy of Promise Me: How a Sister's Love Launched the Global Movement to End Breast Cancer, by Nancy G. Brinker with Joni Rodgers (available as a Broadway Books Hardcover, ISBN: 978-0-307-71812-9 and ebook, ISBN: 978-0-307-71812-9; In Stores September 14, 2010).
2) Forward your Book Order Confirmation Email to PromiseMe@Randomhouse.com. At the top of the email, include your full name, email address, and mailing address, and the full name, mailing address, email address, and phone number (for shipping purposes) of the person to whom you would like us to send a free signed copy of the book. Once your order has been verified, you will receive a verification email, and your designated recipient will receive an email that you are sending him/her a free signed hardcover copy of Promise Me. The gift copy will be sent only to a valid United States mail address. No orders will be placed for copies to be shipped outside the United States.
If you preorder your copy from a participating retail store, you may instead mail in your printed receipt, as well as the Broadway Books mailing form (which you'll find in stores, attached to a Promise Me Campaign Easel-back poster). Fill out your complete mailing information, as well as the complete mailing information of the person to whom you would like us to send a free signed copy of the book (mailing information specified above) to Broadway Books Marketing; c/o Promise Me; 1745 Broadway, 13th floor; New York, NY, 10019. If your store cannot provide you with a printed receipt, please be sure to have the store manager sign your Broadway Books mailing form.
3) Be sure to visit Facebook.com/SusanGKomenfortheCure. We invite you to join the "Promise Me by Nancy G. Brinker Facebook Event" where you can share your response to the book and tell others why you’re sending a copy to your sister (or your designated recipient).
Promise Me will be released nationwide on September 14, 2010. On that day, the retailer you preordered the book from will begin sending your copy directly to you, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure will begin sending the free limited edition signed copy to your designated recipient.
If you preordered your copy from a retail store, you will need visit your store to pick up your book at publication. Be sure to confirm details with your store, when preordering the book. The second free copy will be sent directly to your designated nominee.
The designated recipient will receive the free signed copy of Promise Me on or around October 15, 2010. If the recipient does not receive their book by October 30, 2010, he/she should send an email request to CrownMarketingPublicity@RandomHouse.com.

Komen for the Cure reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify from this offer any individual implicated in any of the following actions, if for any reason, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by individuals accepting the offer, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which, in Susan G. Komen for the Cure's sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration of this offer. By responding to this offer, participants agree (a) to these Official Rules and the decisions of Susan G. Komen for the Cure which shall be final; and (b) to release and hold harmless Broadway Books and Susan G. Komen for the Cure and each of their respective parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates and each of their respective foregoing entities’ employees, officers, directors, and agents (collectively the "Released Parties"), from and against any and all claims, actions and/or liability for any injuries or death, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in and/or acceptance of the offer or participation in any offer-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. The Released Parties are not responsible or liable for any incorrect or inaccurate offer acceptance information, and assume no responsibility for (i) any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in operation or transmission at any website, (ii) failure of any offer acceptance to be received by Broadway Books or Susan G. Komen for the Cure due to technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, (iii) communications line, hardware and/or software failures, (iv) damage to any computer (software or hardware) resulting from participation in the offer, (v) theft or destruction of, tampering with, unauthorized access to, or alteration of offer acceptances and/or offer acceptance information, or (vi) offer acceptances which are late, lost, stolen, damaged, illegible, unintelligible and/or postage due (or any combination thereof). The use of third-party software or website or automated entry systems to participate is prohibited, and Susan G. Komen for the Cure reserves the right to disqualify offer acceptances made in such fashion. Any individual accepting the offer who attempts to tamper with this offer in any way shall be disqualified. In the event of dispute as to who submitted an offer acceptance, the offer acceptance will be deemed submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the email address submitted at the time of offer acceptance. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address in question. The Promise Me copy pursuant to this offer is provided “as is” and without any warranty of any kind. Additional restrictions may apply.
Any individual that accepts the offer agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this offer or any copies of Promise Me shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas or the appropriate Texas State Court located in Dallas, Texas; (ii) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with accepting the offer but in no event attorneys' fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will the individual accepting the offer be permitted to obtain awards for and such individual hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the individual accepting the offer, Broadway Books and Susan G. Komen for the Cure in connection with the offer, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Texas, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Texas or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Texas.
