About Ahdaf SoueifAhdaf Soueif was born in Cairo and spent part of her childhood in London. She is the author of Aisha, Sandpiper, and In the Eye of the Sun. Married to the poet and biographer Ian Hamilton, she divides her time between England and Egypt. The Map of Love was shortlisted for the 1999 Booker Prize.
