Official Rules & Regulations
HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
Enter by printing your name, date of birth, your parent’s/guardian’s
name (if contestant is under 18), full address, and phone number on
either an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper or an online print-out entry form
available at www.SisterhoodCentral.com/contest
and tell us (in 250 words or less) how your group of friends remains
close as everyone grows up and faces their own experiences. Mail to
Sisterhood and the City Contest, Random House Children’s Books,
Marketing Department, 1745 Broadway, MD: 10-2, New York, NY 10019.
Entries must be mailed separately and received by Random House between
December 12, 2006 and March 12, 2007 (“Entry Deadline”).
LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER FAMILY. Partially completed or illegible entries
will not be accepted. Sponsors will not be responsible for lost, late,
mutilated, illegible, stolen, postage due, incomplete or misdirected
entries. All entries become the property of Random House and will
not be returned, so please keep a copy for your records.
ELIGIBILITY
Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States
and the District of Columbia, and Canada, excluding the Province of
Quebec, who are above the age of 8 on December 12, 2006. All federal,
state and local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited
or restricted by law. Employees of Random House Inc and its parent
companies, assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, and advertising, promotion,
and fulfillment agencies; their immediate family members, and persons
living in their household are not eligible to enter this Contest.
PRIZES
There will be one (1) Grand Prize Winner selected. One Grand Prize
Winner will win roundtrip coach airfare for herself and three friends
to New York City, including a hotel stay for 2 nights (one room),
ground transportation to and from the airport, lunch with Ann Brashares
and a Jeans Shopping Spree for 4 girls. (Approximate retail value
$4900.00 US); in the event the Winner is under the age of 18, one
of the three travel companions has to be the Winner’s parent
or legal guardian; actual Actual retail value may vary depending on
the winner’s city of departure. No other expenses included.
Travel and use of accommodation are at risk of Winner, Winner's parent/legal
guardian and travel companions and Random House Inc. does not assume
any liability. If for any reason prize is not available or cannot
be fulfilled, Random House Inc. reserves the right to substitute a
prize of equal or greater value, including, but not limited to, cash
equivalent. All federal, state, and local taxes, if any, are the Winner's
full and sole responsibility. Prizes are not transferable and cannot
be assigned. No prize or cash substitutes allowed, except at the discretion
of the sponsor as set forth above.
WINNERS
Potential Winners will be chosen on or around May 1, 2007, from all
eligible entries received by the Random House Marketing Department
within the Entry Deadline. Entries will be judged by the Random House
Marketing Department staff, whose decisions are final, and the prize
will be awarded on the basis of originality, style, and creativity.
If Winner is under the age of 18, the prize will be awarded in the
name of the winner's parent or legal guardian. Winner or Winner’s
parent or legal guardian will be notified by mail on or about May
1, 2007 and Winner, Winner’s parent/legal guardian and all travel
companions will be required to sign and return affidavit(s) of eligibility
and release of liability within 14 days of notification. Any noncompliance
with the 14-day time period or the return of any notification as undeliverable
will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate
winner by sponsor. In the event of any other noncompliance with rules
and conditions, prize may be awarded to an alternate winner.
RESERVATIONS
By participating, participants and winner (and winner’s parent/legal
guardian) agree that Random House, Inc., and its parent companies,
assigns, subsidiaries or affiliates, advertising, promotion, fulfillment
agencies, and suppliers will have no liability whatsoever, and will
be held harmless by participants and winners (and participants’
and winner’s parent/legal guardian) for any liability for any
injuries, losses, or damages of any kind to person, including death,
and property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly,
from the acceptance, possession, misuse, or use of the prize, or participation
in this contest. By entering the Contest the Winner and the Winner’s
parent or legal guardian consents to the use of the Winner’s
name, likeness, and biographical data for publicity and promotional
purposes on behalf of Random House, Inc. with no additional compensation
or further permission (except where prohibited by law). All other
entry names will NOT be used for subsequent mail solicitation. For
the name of the winner, available after May 1, 2007, please send a
stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Random House, Sisterhood in the

Washington and Vermont residents may omit return postage.
