Magic Tree House
Junie B. Jones
Imagine a world with no poverty, no disease, and no crime, Sounds great, huh? That’s what Meggie, her brother David, her mom, and grandfather all think, too, when they make an unexpected landing in Fashion City. Forced to leave their current home in North Carolina because the community had recently learned their true identity, the Blues think Fashion City might be the best place to live. It doesn’t take long for them to realize, however, that the Founding Fathers not only encourage, but require conformity. You aren’t allowed to have pets—pets bring diseases. You aren’t allowed to read books—books breed curiosity. You aren’t allowed to live past 65—age brings wisdom. When the Blues’ identity is questioned again, they realize they must, once again, find somewhere else to live. The only problem? Someone has ratted them out and the police are on the way over to make sure they stop the Blues before they can leave.
