Magic Tree House
Junie B. Jones
Seeing the future would be the answer to most peoples’ dreams, but high school senior Nick Cross knows it’s really a living nightmare. Since he can remember, he and his mother have been cursed with seeing the future. It’s driven her almost mad. Nick tries not to deviate from the voices in his head because then bad things happen, like a little girl drowning. So Nick tries to stay on script, but when Taryn, a new girl, moves to his Jersey beach town, his safe future begins to twist out of control. As Taryn shifts his future, both Nick and his mother see his imminent death in a horrible car crash. As Nick and Taryn discover family secrets, this dark future seems inevitable. Only Taryn’s gypsy grandmother might have the answer to undoing the Cross family curse. But if Nick and Taryn want a future untouched by death, they’ll need to act fast.
