Magic Tree House

Eve Edward's third installment of the Lacy Chronicles reintroduces the youngest Lacy brother, Kit Turner, now a player in Will Shakespeare’s company. When he is thrown together with the young and innocent Mercy Hart at a dinner party, they make beautiful music together – quite literally. Mercy, the daughter of a wealthy merchant, is not versed in the ways of secular song, but Kit assures her of its merit and hopes to soon assure her of his. But despite, or maybe because of his illegitimate connection to an Earl, Kit is not the caliber of suitor Mercy’s father expects for his daughter. And when the player is accused of treason by the Queen’s men, Mercy’s family demands her to deny her love. As Kit is taken to prison, he can only hope that his Mercy remains constant.
