The FitzOsbornes in Exile

By: Michelle Cooper

Book Talk

After a German attack on their island kingdom, Montmaray, Sophie and the rest of her family are forced to flee to the safety of their Aunt Charlotte’s home in England where life is one new adventure after another.  Aunt Charlotte insists that Sophie and her sister Veronica make their social debut, so the sisters attend balls and teas, suffering through each event in beautiful gowns and uncomfortable shoes.  Their brother, Toby, the King of Montmaray, doesn’t seem to care about regaining his fallen kingdom, but their long-time friend Simon, the Lord Chancellor of Montmarary, does.  With the help of Veronica who knows more than all of them put together about the political unrest before World War II, the four of them set about righting the wrong the Germans committed against Montmarary.
