The FitzOsbornes at War

By: Michelle Cooper

BOOK TALK

Escaping to England when their home on a remote island was attacked by the Nazis, the Montmaray family dodges bombs, endures blackouts, experiences rationing, and witnesses the Blitz.  Everyone in the Montmaray family does their part to help in the war effort. Toby enlists and becomes a fighter pilot, Henry joins the Wrens, and Sophie works in the office of the Ministry of Food.   Even Aunt Charlotte moves to the gatehouse with her maid after her home is requisitioned for use as a hospital.   Spies, internment camps, and mysterious deaths make life almost unbearable, but Sophie must finally make a decision about love in her life; Simon or Rupert?  Will the war ever end and will the family be able to return to their island home?
