Magic Tree House
Junie B. Jones
After her mother dies, 17-year-old Delia McGovern is shuffled from foster home to foster home until she decides to take her future into her own hands by finding her mother’s past. A few incoherent rambling as her mother faded away give Delia her only clue – Trespass. The island off of Maine doesn’t even exist on maps, but Delia feels its pull. And she is determined to meet her grandmother, her only remaining family, and the link to her mother’s secrets. Delia finds an old fisherman who agrees to take her on the dangerous journey to Trespass Island. But visitors aren’t welcome on the island. Secret traditions that have been kept for hundreds of years don’t need to be shared. Delia must prove herself, even to her grandmother. As she discovers herself being drawn more strongly to the sea and Trespass, Delia also discovers that there might be more frightening things in the world than being alone.
