Georges is in the seventh-grade when his world turns upside down. His father loses his job and the family moves from their house into an apartment. He loses his best friend to the “cool crowd,” and he falls victim to the class bullies. Then he meets Safer, a twelve-year-old neighbor who claims to be a spy. The boys launch a mission that involves spying on a neighbor, Mr. X. Georges does solves a mystery, but with unexpected results. Who is Mr. X? What does Georges discover? How does it change him?
