Intentions

By: Deborah Heiligman

BOOK TALK

Feeling confused is a just part of being a teenager, right?  All of a sudden everything seems to be changing in Rachel’s world. Her parents are always arguing but when she heads to Temple for some peace and prayer, another trusted adult’s image goes shattering to the floor. To add to her agony, her best friend is no longer friendly and she can’t figure out why.  Then, when two very different boys vie for her affection, her emotions are tossed into even more turmoil.  What is a nice Jewish girl to do?  How can she live with intention when there’s nothing left to depend on?  Miscommunication, misunderstanding and just plain old mistakes abound in this realistic, modern coming of age story.
