How Tia Lola Ended Up Starting Over

By: Julia Alvarez

BOOK TALK

When Victor Espada decides he no longer wants to practice law, Tía Lola helps the children operate a bed and breakfast in Colonel Charlebois’s Vermont home to make money for the family.  They redecorate three of the bedrooms on the second floor, plan meals, and open for business in short order.  However, the cranky old lady, Mrs. Beauregard, who lives up the street and operates a second rate B & B, is none-too-pleased about the competition.  When mysterious events begin to occur at Tía Lola’s B & B, Miguel and Juanita set out to investigate.  What they discover is a surprise to everybody.
