Heart of Glass

By: Sasha Gould

BOOK TALK

In Heart of Glass, the sequel to Sasha Gould’s Cross My Heart set in 16th century Venice, Laura della Scala’s life has changed drastically for the better since she discovered her sister’s murderer and escaped marriage to a lech. Now, she is picking out a wedding dress and rising in power in the ranks of the secret society, the Segreta. But among the canals of Venice peace and happiness don’t last long. After a rollicking party, Roberto, Laura’s fiancé, wakes from a stupor to find a dead girl on his floor and blood on his hands. Shattered by the news, but determined to prove Roberto’s innocence, Laura becomes entwined with the Turkish prince Halem, the dead girl’s brother. Soon the truths and lies become almost impossible to distinguish and Laura has to rely on following her heart to save both Roberto and the city that she loves.
