Book Talk
It seems exciting at first when a hurricane hits the Hawaiian island where Calvin lives, but the torrential rain soon causes a lot of problems. His sister’s birthday party has to be cancelled, the water in the river below his house beings to rise, the ceiling leaks, and bugs come running into his bedroom to get away from the wet weather. Inconveniences soon turn into a life-or-death situation when Calvin’s friend Willy is swept off the footbridge on which they were standing. Calvin puts his own life in danger as he races to save his friend. Was it bravery or foolishness that made him go after Willy?
