BOOK TALK

CC suffers a head injury and drifts in and out of consciousness.  There is a reoccurring dream that haunts her and under hypnosis, she becomes Mei-Lan, a girl who lived 800 years ago during the Song dynasty. Mei-Lan is the daughter of a wealthy and influential man in China, but she suffers greatly at the hand of a wicked stepmother.  Ah Lin, an illiterate orphan is a gifted artist and jade carver who lives in a shack on Baba’s property. In many ways Mei-Lan and Ah Lin’s lives are worlds apart.  What do they have in common? And, what do they do about it?
