Magic Tree House
Junie B. Jones
Alice-Miranda is so full of energy and kindness that everyone at Winchesterfield-Downsdordvale Academy for Proper Young Ladies falls in love with her immediately; everyone, that is, except Alethea-- who tries to make Alice-Miranda her slave--and the headmistress, Miss Grimm, who hasn’t seen any students for years. In fact Miss Grimm is so disturbed by Alice-Miranda that she decides to expel her if she can’t pass three extremely difficult test; academic, athletic, and survival. Even though no one else has ever had to take these tests and they’re impossible to pass, Alice-Miranda does just that. While on her five day survival test, she also discovers the reason Miss Grimm makes the lives of the teachers, the secretary, the gardener, the cook, and the students so miserable. Alice-Miranda sets about the plan to put things right with Miss Grimm, but Miss Grimm must first be willing to forgive and forget--and that might be even more impossible than the tests she planned for Alice-Miranda.
