Magic Tree House
Junie B. Jones
Lacey, her dad, and two brothers leave the house just like every other Saturday to go eat breakfast, when a crazy woman hits their car and Lacey's life forever changes when her father dies. Everyone in the family deals with the loss by pulling away from each other and isolating themselves. After struggling with the loss and feeling so alone for months, Lacey forms a group of students on her campus who have all lost a parent to death, thinking that their common loss will allow them to feel normal again. The group is a success and when Sam joins, a new student, he and Lacey form a close bond. As Lacey and her family begin to heal, she discovers Sam has betrayed the group by lying. How could he have done such a thing?
