Set in the
north of England, near ancient Roam ruins, Liam Lynch and his friend
Max are visited by a raven, who leads the boys from Liam's backyard
garden to a crumbling stone farmhouse where they discover an abandoned
baby girl. Liam brings the infant home, and the baby is soon
placed in foster care. While paying a visit to the baby, Liam
meets Oliver and Crystal, teenage foster children with pasts scarred
by unspeakable loss and violence. Their growing friendship
causes Liam to question many difficult questions about his own life
and his potential for hatred, brutality, and ultimately compassion.
