The story
unfolds through the eyes of the child Rosita. In the harsh Siberian
landscape, she and her mother secretly care for tiny creatures that
have survived from an earlier time when animals dominated the earth.
Rosita, an innocent child, becomes Sloe, a jaded teenager, who is
thrown out of school, loses her mother, and burned out of her house.
Kept alive by the hope that lives deep inside her, Sloe takes off
on a journey to save the living treasures she guards.
