Fifteen-year-old
Molly O’Keefe should not be having so much fun with a bunch of 9-year-old
Girl Corps members. But she is. In fact, thanks to her younger neighbor
Claire’s invitation, it’s the only group Molly feels comfortable
with right now. She can’t trust her boyfriend, rather ex, Trevor,
after catching him kissing his old girlfriend. She tries to hang
with her best friend who wants her to meet new guys. But after a
disastrous night in a 21 club, Molly needs a break from the domineering
Vanessa. While her Irish father and his clan at the family pub,
The Banshee, mean well, all of their advice from the old country
doesn’t make up for the talk she’d like to have with her mother
who’s been dead since Molly was four. The Girl Corps – not to be
mistaken for anything like the Girl Scouts – seems the perfect fit
right now. So what if she’s hiking 16 miles in flip flops and singing
camp songs? When Molly clashes with the Corps leader though, it
seems she might have to dig deeper into her core to see where she
fits.
