When Tyler Stewart’s newly divorced mom
takes a vacation with her even newer boyfriend, Raphael, she arranges
for Tyler to stay with his uncle. Pete in Hollywood who happens
to be the head writer for the most popular television show on the
air: Kids in the House. Tyler’s dad, an uptight lawyer who
lives in New York, totally disagrees with the arrangement, thinking
that Tyler is wasting his time hanging around the set. Once there,
Tyler begins imagining himself as the star and, with the help of
Sam, whose mother stars on the show, he’s able to convince
his uncle to let him audition for an upcoming role. Once he has
the audition and it looks like he might be chosen, Tyler begins
to face obstacles he hadn’t thought of before. What if his
dad won’t let him take the role? What if he doesn’t
like being famous? What will he do about his best friend Frog, who
lives back home? It doesn’t take long for Tyler to realize
that being a TV star might not be as great as he thought it.
