Margo Lanagan

Have you ever finished reading a book with your teen book group or advisory board and immediately wanted to call the author to ask why this happened, or why a character reacted in that way, or simply wanted to know what happened after the last page? Random House Children’s Books is proud and excited to bring you AUTHOR 411, an opportunity to do just that!

We invited hundreds of librarian facilitators of teen book groups to participate in our 10th AUTHOR 411 event with Michael L. Printz Honor-winning author Margo Lanagan, and her first novel, Tender Morsels. Tender Morsels is a dark and vivid story, set in two worlds and worrying at the border between them.

Following a tremendous response, four lucky book groups were chosen to submit questions to Margo Lanagan after reading advanced copies of Tender Morsels. They came back with thoughtful questions about this challenging novel, questioning the author about her inspiration, characters, choice of language, and even about some of the difficult subjects in this very lyrical book.  The level of depth in their questions was quite impressive to the author, and we hope to you, too!

Here is what our four teen book groups wanted to ask Margo Lanagan about Tender Morsels. Be forewarned, there are some spoilers to plot elements below. If you don't want to know what happens just yet, pick up Tender Morsels (available now), read it, and come back!
