Nesta
likes her life. She has a nice house, a best friend, and parents
who treat her kindly. So when her parents come to her days before
her 12th a week to return to the place her parents are originally
from, Nesta is more than a little surprised. She's even more surprised
that it is another planet—Ormingat. Even though her parents try
to convince her she will like life on this new planet, Nesta feels
that since she was born on Earth, she should stay on Earth. The
only problem is that this is the last chance for her parents to
return to Ormingat. If they aren't on the space ship on departure
day, they will have to live their remaining days on Earth and give
up the powers they have become accustomed to. With only days left
to go, Nesta decides to run away and stay hidden until leaving is
no longer an option, since she knows her parents could still leave
without her. When departure day comes, Nesta is afraid to return
home because her house might just be empty.
