Who am I?
Where do I come from? All children want to understand their family
history. Grace is Cambodian. She lives in Pennsylvania with her
mother and grandmother. Upon the death of her grandma, the family
travels to Florida to give Grandma a proper funeral. Grace is shocked
to learn of relatives she has never known. Why has her family history
been kept a secret? Why did her mother leave her Florida home? Where
is her dad? Why is it so important for Grace and her mom to gain
mutual forgiveness and understanding? Roots and Wings
is a touching story about the past, the present, and one girl’s
hope for the future.
