Poor Alvin!
He’s allergic to just about everything. He takes his PDK (Personal
Disaster Kit) everywhere with him, just in case. He makes sure he
has emergency plans and survival rules for any situation. Another
interesting thing about Alvin is that he talks at home, but he doesn’t
talk at school. He has to work hard to learn how to be a gentleman
(like his dad) and to make friends. (This is hard to do when you
don’t talk!) He still manages to get into a lot of crazy predicaments,
including cursing in Shakespeare to his therapist. (If you’ve never
heard of cursing in Shakespeare, you’ll have to read Alvin Ho
just for this lesson alone!) There’s a chuckle on every page
in Alvin Ho.
