Knopf is proud to reissue the complete and unabridged Arnold Lobel-illustrated treasury of Mother Goose rhymes, originally published in 1986 as The Random House Book of Mother Goose and unavailable for several years. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Arnold Lobel illustrated more than 70 books and wrote 28 of his own, including Frog and Toad Are Friends, a Caldecott Honor Book; Frog and Toad Together, a Newbery Honor Book; and Fables, the 1981 Caldecott Medal winner. The Arnold Lobel Book of Mother Goose represents more than three years’ work for Lobel. Arnold Lobel died in 1987.
