Lucille the Pig, introduced in Lucille’s Snowsuit, is back and it’s her birthday. She gets to open one present early: a tutu, crown, and ballet shoes from her grandparents. Lucille spends all the days before her birthday rehearsing for a performance for her family. Then her older brother and sister try to steal the limelight. Lucille, of course, manages to upstage them, and has a very happy birthday after all. A funny and right-on-target book with great appeal to young children.

Kathryn Lasky is the author of Lucille’s Snowsuit and Lucille Camps In, along with numerous other books for children.

Marylin Hafner has illustrated more than 100 children’s books, including Lunch Bunnies and Science Fair Bunnies, which she collaborated on with Kathryn Lasky.
