You will need:

  • Colored paper, newspaper, tissue paper, or paper of your choice
  • Sponges
  • Scissors
  • Tempera, poster paint, or water color paint

1. Cut sponges into different shapes, including stars, flowers and animals. Be sure that an adult is present to help you when using sharp scissors.

2. Dip the sponge shapes into the paint, then dab the paper with the sponge.

3. Make more prints the same way all over the paper, dipping the sponge into fresh paint from time to time. Try different colored paints for a many colored look.

It's a great way to give a gift without spending a red cent on wrapping!
