Steve Johnson and Lou Fancher are a prize-winning team of artists who began illustrating children's books in 1989. With such books as Cat, You Better Come Home by Garrison Keillor, The Frog Prince, Continued by Jon Scieszka, The Salamander Room by Anne Mazer, and Peach and Blue by Sarah Kilborne to their credit, they are now among the most sought-after of children's book artists. They fell in love with this manuscript at first sight, seeing it as an unusual opportunity to create something that is at once childlike and sophisticated.

Steve and Lou are married and live in Minneapolis.
