About Us

Random House Reader’s Circle is dedicated to publishing the very best for book groups—thought-provoking books selected because they have a compelling narrative guaranteed to spark a lively discussion.

Each RHRC book contains a discussion guide in the back—with author interviews, discussion questions, and author biographies—providing unique opportunities for readers to expand their knowledge of the author and their writing.

Our website serves as a community and resource where readers can:

  • Chat: Meet fellow book lovers, and discuss what you’re reading.
  • Comment: Post reviews of books, ask—and answer—thought-provoking questions, or give and receive book club ideas.
  • Connect: Find an author on tour, visit our other blog, or invite one of our hundreds of available authors to chat with your group on the phone.
  • Explore: Find discussion questions, excerpts, author interviews, videos, free books, news on the latest releases, and more.

We’re here to help readers make the most of their book club experience.

Our History

Established in 1997 as the Ballantine Reader’s Circle with seven trade paperback titles, the Random House Reader’s Circle was the first program to include a discussion guide in the back of each book—featuring author interviews, discussion questions and author biographies.

Now offering the best of Ballantine, Bantam, The Dial Press, Random House, and Spiegel & Grau trade paperback original and reprint titles, the Random House Reader’s Circle encompasses both literary and commercial fiction and nonfiction, from groundbreaking first novels to classic works of contemporary literature.
