I just finished The Wednesday Sisters and loved the friendships coupled with the love and respect. I don't know how many women would go so long without asking Brett why she wore those gloves. This was a very enjoyable book. A quick, light read for the summer. It did start slowly, but I found the friendship the women shared charming. Thank you for sending me this book. I will recommend it to my book club.
The characters, story line, and easy writing style make this book an absolutely wonderful read. It made me wonder about my mother's life as a young woman before my birth in 1974. Also, since my sister and I are both battling cancer, I could relate to the struggles Linda faced.
I enjoyed the story line esp. and though I was younger in that time period felt it easy to 'walk' in the characters' shoes. Like the way Meg incorporated the history of the era into her story. I felt that the book started slowly but built as the characters developed. The sixties certainly came rushing back - so true to life. Having dealt with friends who had breast cancer, what Linda went thru, became so very real. We have come a long way and for those who are too young to remember this ... (continued)
The Wednesdy Sisters was a perfect summer read! I loved the characters and reading about how things were in the 60's. If you like books about strong women with wonderful friendships, you will love this book!
