I found the historical context in the plot quite unique. I grew during the 70's. I like the idea that the characters formed their group and bonded, over their strive to become writers. I do feel however, that the plot waned, and then accelerated to a quick ending.

It would have been nice to see them more involved in the women's movement at the time.

Over all, I did enjoy the book.
