I absolutely loved the book! I could not put it down. The gals went from being "mothers in the park" to genuine friends. Friends that supported one another in the bad times and celebrated the good times.
As a younger reader, 25 and recently engaged in a new city, I identified with the young woman who met and befriended themselves. I acutally listened to the book on CD while traveling this summer. I loved this book! I couldn't put it down, but I didn't want it to end. I laughed, I cried, I remembered so much that I had not thought about in years. I had something in common with each woman, and loved them all.
This was not only a fun read, but also a very inspiring one as well. You can't finish this book without asking yourself "what dreams have I ignored over the years." Beware! Readers of "The Wednesday Sisters" may find themselves with sleepless nights as they too begin typing away at the stories, essays ... (continued)
I enjoyed the book--the setting of the 60's really set the tone for the life experiences of the characters. Even though I was in high school during the years of the book, it took me back to that time, seeing it from another perspective, yet remembering it from my own experience. I think it would appeal ... I enjoyed reading "the Wednesday Sisters" very much watching the women's group get to know each other over time and support each other.
