I truly appreciate the books you mail me. There are 5 of us friends that meet once a week for lunch (those of us that are available) and just have the best time together.My husband will never understand this (how can you spend so much time with the same women.) First of all, I must say that I loved reading The Wednesday Sisters for it's time period. I am always sensitive to details that firmly root a story in time and place.

For the young (anyone under fifty, say) this novel, despite a few flaws, is worth reading if only to illustrate how much this country ... (continued)

I absolutely loved the book! I could not put it down. The gals went from being "mothers in the park" to genuine friends. Friends that supported one another in the bad times and celebrated the good times.

As a younger reader, 25 and recently engaged in a new city, I identified with the young woman who met and befriended themselves. I acutally listened to the book on CD while traveling this summer. I loved this book! I couldn't put it down, but I didn't want it to end. I laughed, I cried, I remembered so much that I had not thought about in years. I had something in common with each woman, and loved them all.
