I just finished "The Eight", and we will be discussing it at our book club meeting next week. I couldn't put the book down. I loved all the historical characters that were players in The Game. The book stimulated me to research the French Revolution, Catherine the Great, and others that I had learned of many years ago in school.
I loved the fact that it is 2 books in one, intertwined my the central theme of The Game. The author's usage of the pawns kept me turning the pages, anxious to conclude The Game.
I would highly recommend "The Eight" to everyone, and also to book clubs. There is so much potential for discussion and enjoyment. I look forward to reading "The Fire."
