After reading a number of books with serial killers, it is a nice break to read a literary work with inteligence. I'm not a chess player but this work gives me an appreciation of the game and the wonderful imagination of the writer.

Read The Eight some years ago. I usually do not read books twice but when I saw this at the bookstore, knew I had to buy it. The 1st time I read The Eight was a book borrowed from the Library. The Eight gave me double the excitement in one novel! The interwoven historic and current stories are each intriguing in their own right. The high level of tension kept me reading into the wee hours, and I can't wait to read The Fire!
