I just now finished reading your book. It has been one of the most "sweetly" moving and enjoyably "bittersweet" books I've read in a long time. It was made all the more real by my living in Seattle and being able to experience the culture, music, vibrancy and sadness of another time in my city's history. ... (continued)

So enjoyed this book. I have a great photo of a young Japanese girl sitting on a porch, who was waiting to be taken to a camp. Also, have you ever read the non-fiction book by Budd Fukei, written in 1976. The photo I mentioned above is in this book. Also an excellent book. Budd worked for the Newspaper ... (continued)

I just finished reading this terrific book.I think it compares favorably to "snow falling on cedars",which I feel is the best novel ever of that time and place.

Just finished Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. It is a marvelous book, and I learned so much while being entertained by an excellently written book. Thank you, Mr. Ford!

Just finished Hotel. Loved it. Loved it loved it. The descriptions, language, writing, story, history -- just wonderful. I'm recommending it to everyone.
