To enter online, go to the Web page for this Sweepstakes, located at http://www.randomhouse.com/rhpg/contests/alanfurst.html and complete and submit the registration form as instructed. One entry per person. Entries must be received no later than July 30, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. Only entries submitted electronically to the Web site in accordance with these rules will be eligible for consideration. Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of the entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the fifty United States, who are over the age of eighteen as of June 1, 2008. Employees of Random House, Inc. and SONY. ("Random House", "Sony." or "Sponsors"),and Sponsors' parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of such employees and individuals living in their homes are not eligible to enter.

Selection of Winner: Total number of eligible entries received determines odds of winning. From all eligible entries received, Sponsor will randomly select one winner on or about August 15, 2008. Winner will be notified by mail, email, or telephone on or about August 15, 2008 and will be required to sign and return affidavit(s) of eligibility and release within fourteen (14) days after notification (notification by email will require shorter response times as set forth below). A noncompliance within that time period, or the return of any notification as undeliverable, will result in disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner. In the event of any other noncompliance with rules and conditions, prize(s) may be awarded to an alternate winner. If winner is notified by electronic mail, winner must reply with all contact information requested in the notification within ten (10) days from the date notification was sent, or another winner may be selected.

Prize: Winner will receive one (1) SONY® E-Reader pre-loaded (approximate retail value $400.00 total) All other expenses and all federal, state, and local taxes are winner's sole responsibility. No transfer or substitution of prizes.

Limitations of Liability/Reserved Rights: Neither Sponsors nor their parents, subsidiaries or affiliated companies, nor its/their promotional agencies shall have any obligation or responsibility with regard to (i) entries that contain inaccurate information or do not comply with these rules, (ii) entries, prize claims, or notifications that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, damaged, or otherwise not received by the intended recipient, in whole or in part, due to computer or technical error of any kind, (iii) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or (iv) any damages or losses of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Web site or otherwise violating these rules. Sponsor further reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify the Sweepstakes if the Sweepstakes cannot be completed as planned because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or technical failures of any sort.

Miscellaneous: For the name of the winner, available after August 15, 2008, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Random House, Attn: RHPG, 1745 Broadway, MD 18-1, New York, NY 10019. Residents of VT and WA may omit postage on return envelope. Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations; void where prohibited or restricted by law.
